Primeurs 2025

THE PERFECT GENTLEMAN
Some wines insist on being noticed.
Rauzan-Ségla has never needed to.

THE MAN
TO WATCH. TO PROTECT.
June arrives with heat.
Temperatures run five degrees above average, sometimes more. Each day falls into two halves: cool, misty mornings and bright, warm afternoons. In that space, the vine finds its footing. The teams stay attuned to every shift.

Plot by plot, the vineyard is read, not managed. Every intervention matched to each soil, each vine. Clay is being trialled as a spray, to protect the vine from sun and leafhoppers. This is the year of the watcher: the one who reads the vine before it speaks. Who acts at precisely the right moment.
Always watching. Never caught off guard.

Testimonies

2025 walks a tightrope. Violet on one side, blackcurrant and blackberry on the other. Everything holds. Nothing takes over.
THE GESTURE
THE RIGHT MOMENT
Late August. The teams taste the berries.
The aromatic thread is there: floral, fresh, full of promise.
What has been tended all summer begins to show.
September 2nd. Green light for the Merlot.
The moment is chosen, not given.
The pace changes. Summer steps aside.
What was built in intensity is now gathered in calm.
The harvest flows, unhurried, almost effortless.
The organisation is meticulous. September brings cool relief. Conditions are kind. From here, the vine sets the tempo. We follow.

Selection starts in the rows, from the first cut.
The fruit is given time to breathe while sorting is refined. The small berries of 2025 have their own logic: crushing calibrated to open each berry, never bruise it.
Every drop counts. Fermentation begins slowly, at low temperature.
Quietly, the juice begins to find its shape.

NICOLAS AUDEBERT ON THE 2025 VINTAGE

The aromatic palette of Rauzan-Ségla belongs to a painter at work: countless nuances, countless hues, all moving toward something precise and elegant.
THE SIGNATURE
ELEGANCE DEFIES EXPLANATION
Summer gave everything. The vine held back. The small berries of 2025 tell the whole story: intensity within, restraint without. The colour is deep, almost dark. Then the fruit opens: black cherry, fresh plum. And that violet, returning. Persistent, floral, stubborn. Freshness never yielded. It runs through the wine, gives it drive, lifts without erasing. The tannin is silky but present. A quiet backbone.
13.5 degrees: summer's heat, brought to heel.
Rauzan-Ségla. Elegance, always.
